I thought I’d just quickly stop by and share a couple of blogs I have followed for a very long time and give you a little insight. I know many of my friends and family are wondering why on earth I decided to take on ANOTHER project. Well, first of all, I can’t help myself. Drew and I, we are doers. We like to keep busy, which is why home projects are such a huge part of our life. When we were very first married, we would build furniture from scratch (correction: Drew would build, I would help and complete finish work). We made cutting boards and coasters. We love seeing something come from nothing. These are some photos of projects we completed as gifts. We got all of the wood from Woodcraft. Let me tell you, that store is amazing! They will make you fall in love with the beauty of wood, and you’ll never want to paint anything again.

When I was at work the other day, one of my co-workers asked me: “Where do you find the blogs you follow?” I thought that was a great question! The truth is, my very first blog love was I Heart Organizing. I have no idea how I stumbled upon that blog, because it has been so long ago. But in following along with Jen’s journey, I found other bloggers who I have loved to follow. Chris and Julia at Chris Loves Julia are a couple I follow regularly as well. I never miss a post from these two sites. Why? Well, that’s the interesting part. Both blogs offer pretty different perspectives on how to make a cozy home. They also have completely different design aesthetics, and neither of them are completely in line with our style. But I do love the VOICE in which they share their projects and advice. I also find the information that they share to be useful to us, despite our differences in design preferences.

You see, the great thing about blogging is this: It is a great information sharing forum. Although some people who follow blogs don’t like sponsored posts, I love them. I’m a big fan of asking around before I purchase something. Sometimes I can feel overwhelmed by tasks that I need to complete. I also like to branch out from big box stores and check into smaller, more mom and pop type businesses. I feel like the blogging community does a wonderful job of providing a forum for products that otherwise may end up lost in the sea of products offered out there.

In the comments, I’d be interested to know: What blogs do you all follow regularly? What makes you want to follow a blog regularly?
